The purpose of this conference is to provide teachers, both k-12 and AIG, with professional development on how to infuse creativity and technology into the curriculum to challenge and engage students. Sessions include roundtable and poster sessions to allow for maximum interaction of participants. Presentation topics include the use of technology in the classroom to promote creative and critical thinking, use of technology to differentiate in the classroom and innovative use of APPs for promoting creativity and collaboration.

Call for Presentations - Deadline for submission

Please consider submitting a proposal to present at our first Creativity and Technology Conference, Fostering Creativity in the Digital Age. Proposals are due May 1, 2017.

Guidelines for submissions

Send a description of your presentation in 300 words or less.  Include your Title, topic and a summary of what attendees will learn from your session.  Also, include a 50-word description to include in the conference program.

Presentations related to the following themes will be considered:

  • Use of technology in the classroom to promote creative and critical thinking
  • Use of technology to differentiate in the classroom
  • Strategies in the classroom for promoting creativity
  • Creative differentiation strategies that engage all learners, especially gifted learners.
  • Creative opportunities for k-12 students to present their work
  • Innovative use of APPs for promoting creativity and collaboration.
  • Promoting social and emotional well-being of students through creativity and/or technology
  • Including Creativity in identification, placement, and curricula for gifted programs.
  • Developing School Environments that foster creativity

Identify which format you would prefer:

  • Roundtable discussion - Roundtables are 45-minute sessions with attendees seated around a table. Roundtable presentations typically include 15 minutes of presentation, followed by 30 minutes of discussion and feedback. Roundtable presenters should bring targeted questions to pose to others at the table in order to learn from and with those attending. Roundtables are an ideal format for networking and in-depth discussions of classroom practices.

  • Poster Session - Individual(s) prepare a visual representation of their topic that is displayed on poster boards (4 feet tall by 4 feet wide) and present a brief explanation of approximately 10 minutes that summarizes their work. Depending upon the flow of the audience the presenter(s) may need to repeat this summary and engage in discussion.
